- OpenVMS VAX (5.5-2 or higher). The DEC C RTL (060.0-60 or higher) is required on system versions less than OpenVMS 6.1. A Digital upgrade kit for the DEC C RTL is provided on the same media as the SEM kit.
- OpenVMS Alpha (6.1 or higher).
- Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (UCX) 3.3 or higher (if 4.1, ECO 6 or later) or TCP/IP product for OpenVMS from another vendor. If Multinet, version 4.0 or higher. If TCPware: VAX version 4.0-3 or higher (AXP version 5.1-4 or higher).
